Malik Badri, the pioneer of the indigenization of psychology in the Arab World. His original contribution to psychology deserves full attention from the students of the history of psychology in the Arab World. From the beginning of his career, he argued about the unsuitability of importing psychology to the local environment without critical analysis. He has written 45 excellent articles that were published in regional as well as international journals. Additionally, he authored 16 exciting books on psychology in both Arabic and English. Badri founded a number of psychological clinics, departments, faculties and societies. He has two well known books “The Dilemma of Muslim Psychologists” and “The Aids Crisis”. They are the milestone, that have the most crucial influence of how psychology can be adapted to suit the local environment. The later has been critically reviewed in the present study. Badri’s program of indigenization has practical interests. He is an encyclopedic psychologist, with broad research interests, original concepts, sophisticated methods, and applicable technical psychological skills. For that, Badri deserves the full title of the word “pioneer” of the indigenization of psychology not only in Arab countries, but throughout the Muslim World.
